About the Author

Chris d'Lacey is a British author known for children's literature, particularly The Last Dragon Chronicles series. Born in Malta, he later moved to England and studied biology. D'Lacey began writing fiction at 32, inspired by a stuffed polar bear gift for his wife. His first children's novel, published in 1998, was shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal. D'Lacey's works often feature environmental themes and personal experiences. He has written over 20 children's books and received an honorary doctorate from the University of Leicester. While writing is his primary income, he still works at the university operating a confocal microscope.
