Kishore Mahbubani is a Singaporean academic and former diplomat.
He served in Singapore's Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 1971 to 2004, including as Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
Mahbubani held the position of President of the UN Security Council twice.
He later became a Professor in the Practice of Public Policy at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, where he also served as Dean until his retirement in 2017.
Mahbubani's background in diplomacy and academia has positioned him as a prominent voice on global affairs, particularly regarding the relationship between the West and Asia.
