Swami Sri Yukteswar Giri was a renowned Indian yogi, astrologer, and educator.
He was the spiritual teacher of Paramahansa Yogananda, author of "Autobiography of a Yogi." In 1894, at the request of Mahavatar Babaji, Yukteswar wrote "The Holy Science" to demonstrate the underlying harmony between Christian and Hindu scriptures.
As a scholar of both the Bhagavad Gita and the Bible, Yukteswar sought to bridge Eastern and Western spiritual traditions.
He was known for his scientific approach to spirituality and his teachings on cosmic cycles.
Yukteswar's work had a significant impact on the spread of yoga and Eastern philosophy to the West through his disciples, particularly Yogananda.
