Brendan Slocumb
Brendan Nicholaus Slocumb is a musician and educator turned author.
Born in California and raised in North Carolina, he earned a music education degree from UNC Greensboro.
For over two decades, Slocumb has taught music in schools and performed with orchestras in the Washington, DC area.
His background in classical music heavily influences his writing, as evidenced in his debut novel.
Outside of music and writing, Slocumb enjoys collecting comics, exercising, and playing in a rock band.
His personal experiences as a Black classical musician inform the authentic portrayal of racial issues in his work.
